Q. WHAT CAN I EXPECT AT WOKE YOGA?
A. At WOKE we have a friendly, down to earth community. We aspire to make each student feel comfortable at our space - from beginners to seasoned yogis alike. You can expect to find emphasis on tools that will help you wake up - so it's more than just fitness.
Q. IS IT OK IF I'VE NEVER DONE YOGA BEFORE?
A. Totally. You're welcome to join into any of our regular classes - just let your teacher know you're just starting out. Remember, yoga isn't about performance so go at your own pace.
Q. DO I NEED TO BOOK ONLINE?
A. While you don't need to book for most classes, we love it when you do. If you don't book online, please come at least 10 minutes before class to make sure you get a spot.
Q. DO I NEED TO BRING MY OWN MAT?
A. Nope. We hire mats for a gold coin donation. Of course you're welcome to bring your own mat if you prefer.
Q.WHAT'S THE STUDIO'S ETIQUETTE?
Please arrive 10 minutes before class, late admittance is discouraged
Leave your shoes on the steps
Keep the shala quiet for students who wish to meditate before class. You can always chat in the reception area.
Turn your phone on silent when entering the studio. Please don't use your phone in the shala.
Q.WHAT IF I'M PREGNANT?
A. We advise that you don't practice yoga in your first trimester. After that, please let your instructor know you're pregnant, and how many weeks you are, and they will advise you about all the do's & don'ts of practicing as a mumma to be.
Q.WHAT IF I HAVE AN INJURY?
A. Please let your instructor know before class if you are working with an injury. He or she will give you guidelines about how to adapt your practice - but remember if you feel pain - trust your body above all - and be gentle with yourself. Slow and steady is best.
Q.HOW OFTEN SHOULD I PRACTICE?
A. That depends! If you come once per week, you'll probably feel pretty good afterwards. If you come 2 -3 times per week, those good vibes will linger a little longer. 5 - 6 times per week and your yoga glow will become a permanent fixture.
